WHAT IS A CHILDREN'S VILLAGE?

God has given us a comprehensive vision for not simply a children's home but whole children's village. We categorically do NOT have orphanages. If you live in an orphanage you grow up living, thinking and feeling like an orphan.

There are NO orphans in God's Kingdom. Only dearly loved sons and daughters worth giving everything for. We want our kids to grow up within their own cultural context, not separated from it.

We see a land dotted with small homes filled with family units of 10-15 children and a mama, dorms for our older teens, agricultural fields and gardens and livestock so our kids learn all they need to know to be fully integrated into normal communtity life when they grow up. We also see dorms for our visitors and pastors in training, a primary school and voc tech training center, dining and cooking facilities, staff housing and even a big blue and white striped tent to worship under. We want our kids to grow up with all the benefits we can offer them and the revival fire of Jesus but still within their own culture. It is a place that will be a picture of the peace and unity only Jesus can bring as well as the Father's heart of love.

WHERE DO YOUR CHILDREN COME FROM?

We are seeking out children who have been orphaned or abandoned because of the conflict here or the harsh realities of life and high death rate here. We are also looking to find those children who are at present living within an extended family context that are not being properly provided for because of lack of resources. Not all are full orphans, some simply have circumstances within their families that cause the relatives to be unable to offer adequate care. We also take children from high risk crisis situations temporarily on a case by case basis until the crisis can be resolved.

HOW ARE YOU STARTING ?

We have rented a building in Yei that can house up to our almost 80 children ultimately while we are acquiring and developing our own land in 2008. We pray to have had adequate funds to develop our land for a Sept 2008 move. We opened officially on Christmas day 2006 with a huge feeding outreach where we fed 1000 people from the poorest of the poor in our community a lavish Christmas meal. We now have 77 children and 28 staff in our family and are growing every day.

WHAT ARE YOUR CORE VALUES?

• Providing a secure, loving, family environment to raise children orphaned or abandoned as sons and daughters (NOT orphans) who know Whose they are and who He is calling them to be.
• Seeking out and finding children from all over southern Sudan, especially from higher risk areas due to local circumstances, instability or ongoing fighting.
• Raising our children to be fully integrated into normal community life within their own cultural context as adults who love Jesus and contribute to the world around them,
• Surrounding our children with the love of God, the truth of His Word, and the power of His Spirit in a stable and safe environment where they can receive full healing and restoration from any trauma in their past and grow in the present and future into everything God calls them to be.
• Seeing that our kids grow as Jesus did: in wisdom and stature, in favor with God and with man.
• Raising a generation of peace out of the ashes of war
• Casting vision to reach, restore and release their peoples, nation and the nations with the love and life of Jesus.
• Mobilizing our children to be carriers of revival and ones that bring the reality of heaven to earth, NOW… not later.
• Instilling the security of knowing their chosen-ness and value as sons and daughters of God who will actually bring healing to nations
• Healing the “orphan mentality” with the Kingdom realities of adoption, acceptance, sonship, chosen-ness, love and community.
• Releasing the current and emerging generations to become a movement of God’s passion and presence in the earth.
• Being a tangible representation of the heart of Father God and His Kingdom to the peoples of Sudan and the surrounding nations.
