LETTER FROM MICHELE-- AUG 25, 2008:

Dear beloved,

We are in an exciting time of growth here at Iris Sudan as we are in the process of welcoming and positioning new members of our missionary team, as well as screening more to come later this year. One of my heart cries since starting this work was to have more time to be immersed in the culture and to spend with my children (now topping 87). I have been praying for administrative help for almost 2 years. I am pleased to welcome and introduce Jennie Joy Tefler onto our admin team in Sudan. She will be with us for the next 2 months on a trial basis to make sure it is as good a fit as it appears to be, and is planning on returning after Thanksgiving long term. I am confident she is an answer to prayer!

We are in transition over the remaining months of 2008 to get Jennie set up in her new role, as well as welcoming other potential members of our admin and ministry team here. That said, many of you will be hearing from more people than just me now! Please be a bit a patient with us as we refine our communication process in this period and if you don't hear back in what you would consider to be a timely fashion, feel free to resend to make sure your email arrived. I will be transitioning out of doing the bulk of administrative emails that can be handled by other personnel. HOWEVER, I will still be keeping in touch through regular updates, blog posts and personal email.

We are growing and I am learning what to hand over so I can be free to step into the reason why God brought me here, which is reaching and releasing His Sudanese Bride and seeing a nation changed from the inside out by love. I can't do that very well tied to a computer!

Jesus has spoken to me about spending less time administrating details, as He was bringing on other capable hands and willing hearts to help and more time giving myself for the peoples of Sudan. I am elated by the change and excited by the opportunies it presents. I still will be keeping in touch and I do cherish relationship, so please keep sending personal email and as I am able I will reply.

As more details are set into place, I will keep you informed! Please see our new email directory below for emails of how to best keep in touch with us. We are getting our system in place for the expansion Jesus is bringing. As always thank you for your love and prayers, for seeing the one and the multitudes through His eyes, and for standing with us as we stand in His heart of love to see His Bride made fully ready in the nation of Sudan and beyond.

Much love in Jesus,

Michele

HOME FRONT ALLIANCE:

Would you like to be more involved in what God is doing here in Sudan, but perhaps you are not necessarily called to move here full time? I want to invite you to consider becoming a part of our newly formed Homefront Alliance and Support Network.

I ran across this concept several years ago through contact with Youth With a Mission’s Strategic Frontiers arm of frontline church planting. The idea is every frontline team on the field has a corresponding home front support team based in the US or in other countries advocating for them, helping to connect them with needed resources, raising awareness and prayer support, organizing or directing teams to them for visits, practical logistical support, helping connect them with opportunities to share when they visit back home, etc.

Some of you may simply be called to pray and gather others to pray. We desperately need a strong prayer cover and backing. Some of you may have grant writing connects… some to bring teams… some to have fundraisers or special projects your communities become involved in… some to help connect us with others and opportunities to share in your areas… however God leads you to be involved, you will be SUCH a blessing and I am beyond grateful for the gifts you are not only to me but to my new adopted home nation of Sudan.
